One of those rods you trust very quickly

I've had several good fish on it now and the feeling is always the same.

It keeps everything stable, gives you enough sensitivity to stay connected to what's happening and has the power when the fight gets more serious. After a few trips it already feels like a rod I've owned for years.

A lot more versatile than I expected

I originally bought it for one specific technique, but it has ended up getting used for trolling and live bait too.

That's probably what I like most about the McFly. It's specialist enough to do its main job properly without being a one-trick rod.
