Titan Red (80/130 Acid)

After several hard trips I'm very impressed.

The bent butt is comfortable under load, the spiral guide layout keeps everything stable and the blank has enormous reserve power. It's obviously a specialist rod, but when you're targeting fish that can genuinely test your gear, that's exactly what you want.

My first proper fish on the Titan Red turned into one of the hardest fights I've had in years.

Seeing that fish finally come up beside the boat was a great feeling. The rod had taken a huge amount of pressure without ever giving me a reason to doubt it.

When a big fish is straight below the boat and nothing seems to move, that's when this rod earns its money.

You can really lean into it and it remains stable. Not a subtle piece of tackle, but that's not why I bought it.

Very impressive finish and strong components. Mine arrived extremely well protected.

There's a serious amount of lifting power in this rod. It feels like it always has something left.

Hooked a fish that immediately went deep and stayed there.

Those are the moments where you don't want to be thinking about your tackle. The Titan Red just felt completely solid and let me concentrate on gaining line.

Very powerful rod, excellent Fuji hardware and a solid bent butt. Exactly the kind of construction I wanted.

Under heavy drag the rod stays remarkably controlled. The spiral guides really come into their own when you're putting serious pressure on a fish.

You only need to put some load through this rod to understand what it's built for. Huge amount of power and very stable under pressure.
